This is more WHITE MEDIA propaganda..... I do a ton of research in my field (medical) and let me tell you that a lot of researchers use what is called a "representative" study when 1) they do not have a big enough sample that would allow them to make the broad claims their study was designed to allow them to make so they claim their small sample a representative of the larger population or 2) they have a disproportionately high representation of one group's information in the sample, but because the sample is a sufficiently big enough in number, they say it is a normal distribution.

And as usual with health, particularly STD statistics, African-Americans more often get their treatment at FREE clinics funded by the government. Here, their medical information and history (minus their personal info) are allowed to be used in statistics for study and research. Caucasians more often go to personal family doctors and their information and medical history are kept private.

Therefore if the CDC simply uses the information available to them even without tampering with it, they can already expect to see a higher percentage of African-Americans in their results because there will be a higher percentage of African-Americans in the available sample to begin with because they visit the clinics where the CDC gets the bulk of their information more than any other group!

In addition, before Black men and women start bashing each other and using these statistics as evidence why the Black woman/man is horrible, please be less susceptible to believing the worst about yourselves every time you hear it. There is a reason why the bulk of the statistics that can put you in a negative light come out, whereas the ones that can put other races, particularly Caucasians in a bad light, are shelved and hardly ever nationally published in magazines and newspapers.

The public needs information about STD statistics that is independent of the CDC and the existing STD research community. Government agencies and supporting activists have fostered the false impression that STD infections are rapidly increasing in African-Americans and that it has been spreading from the original risk groups to create a major health crisis for the public in general. An independent assessment of the facts is particularly necessary because, with few exceptions, the print and electronic media have been acquiescent in furthering the false public perception.

As a smart and well educated BLACK woman I would like to believe that research independent of the CDC and all other government agencies can summon the resources and the integrity to provide an independent review of the claimed STD pandemic, including its causes and the actual danger it represents to citizens outside the specific risk groups. Whether this is possible remains to be seen.
