Mariah talks slick about Eminem
Mariah Carey is showing everyone that rappers aren’t the only ones who can come up with a diss track.
Her new single, “Obsessed,” debuted yesterday and it has few a lines that seem to be directed at Eminem. The rapper recently took shots at her husband, Nick Cannon, in “Bagpipes From Baghdad.”
Up until now, Mariah’s hasn’t pubically said anything about the song, but it looks like she was just saving it for the booth. The Dream, who produced “Obsessed,” told MTV News that the song is aimed at someone, but he didn’t say exactly who.
Mariah never actually mentions Em’s name in the song, but she does make reference to his past drug problems. Specifically, she starts the song by singing, "It must be the weed, it must be the E/ 'Cause you be poppin', you get it poppin'."
She doesn’t let up from there, either! Mariah keeps calling the target of her song “delusional” and that she thinks they may be losing their mind.
“Obsessed” is the debut single from Mariah’s upcoming CD, Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. We’ll have to see if Mariah decides she needs to talk about anyone else when she drops the album on August 25.
