This season, Nene said fans will see her working on her new book, Never Make the Same Mistake Twice. The memoir, which is being published by Simon & Schuster, will hit store shelves on August 11.
 
Never Make the Same Mistake Twice has chapters about experiences she’s been through, like being a single mother and escaping an abusive relationship, but she also spares a few pages for the other Atlanta housewives.
 
“I talk about my relationship with Sheree [Whitfield],” Nene told S2S. “I pride myself on being a very good judge of character, and some of the things that we went through, I didn’t see them coming.”
 
Nene also discusses her friendship with Kim Zolciak, and how she feels about the fact that the aspiring singer dates married men. “I talk about it very openly…and she makes no excuses for it,” she said.
 
But with that project out of the way, Nene’s moved on to something new. “I’m now working on a fragrance called Independent Woman,” she told us. And Nene told us that consumers shouldn’t expect the scent to be as bold as she is because she’s not a fan of spicy, overpowering scents.  Instead, she dished, Independent Woman will probably be a fruitier scent. From what she told us these endeavors are part of a bigger goal: making herself a household name.
 
“I’m really just trying to build a brand, and it’s really important,” said Nene.  “I want longevity, I don’t want to just be a reality star. You know, I was a business woman when they found me and I want to continue to be a business woman.”
 
And how are things on the home front for the reality star? Although Nene couldn’t spill too much about it, she said that this season she’ll be dealing with her oldest son coming home from college. We asked about the reason behind his return, but Nene said we just had to “watch what happens.”
