Queen Latifah and Usher announce new fragrances
Wed, 06/24/2009 - 16:28 — whitney
Come fall, the shelves of your local department store will be filled with Black star, err, smells. Both Queen Latifah and Usher have announced that they will be releasing fall fragrances.
Queen by Queen Latifah is the entertainer's first foray into perfume, and it's a strong blend of Eastern notes--Mediterranean mandarin, Moroccan coriander and Indonesian patchouli. She'll be releasing the spray, body butter and body lotion at Macy's for $49-$59.
Usher's latest scent is called VIP (he's previously released Usher and Usher for Women) and is for the gents only. He told WWD that "I consider all of my fragrances tools of engagement for seduction -- but this one demands a different type of attention," "That is part of the reason I led with the males only with this one -- it is made for a man but for women to enjoy." Hmm, we can get down with that!
"I really feel like VIP represents the growth I've had in the last two years," Usher said. "The man that wears this fragrance, hopefully, will go out in the world empowered by what he's wearing."
VIP's notes will be pure male: nutmeg on top, saffron in the middle and base notes that include suede. Ush's fragrance is $50-$65.
