It looks like Shaquille O’Neal may be heading to Cleveland for his next season in the NBA.
 
Sources have said that The Cleveland Cavaliers and The Phoenix Suns have reached an agreement that would send Shaq to Ohio, according to ESPN.com. In return for him, the Suns will be getting Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. 
 
The deal has already been agreed on and it could be approved sometime today.  According to insiders, the Suns are also getting the 46th pick in the next NBA draft and $500,000.
 
The Cavs have been pursuing Shaq since February, but there’s no word on how much he would stand to make on this deal. If the trade gets approved, it would have him teaming up with LeBron James.
 
The move is expected to strengthen the middle for the Cavs, who struggled to defend Dwight Howard when they went up against the Orlando Magic in the playoffs.
 
And, adding Shaq might not be Cleveland’s only change in the roster. ESPN reports that they would still like to add a free agent that would serve as an athletic wing player. The team is also looking to re-sign their power forward Anderson Varejo.
 
Had the Cavs not gotten Shaq, they would have traded their players to the New Orleans Hornets in exchange for Tyson Chandler.
