Who bumped Breezy from BET Awards stage?
Chris Brown was noticeably missing from the BET Awards, and the Rev. Al Sharpton may have been involved.
A tipster told Bossip.com that Chris had been ready to hit the stage on Sunday, when Hov gave BET an ultimatum.
Reportedly, the rapper threatened to pull his own performance from the ceremony if it even looked like Chris would be stepping into the spotlight.
According the New York Daily News, other sources said that Al is really the one who had him cut from the performance roster.
“Al made such a fuss to the BET executives that they pulled Chris,” said the source, who acknowledged that Jay-Z also played a part in the cancellation. “Jay is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn’t want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court’s ruling.”
This came as a last minute blow to Breezy who had been rehearsing his number. It would have been Chris’ first performance since his alleged altercation with Rihanna back in February. However, BET and his own camp have said that he was never actually confirmed to perform at the Awards.
