Michael Jackson’s family holds wake

Before today’s public memorial, the Jackson family said goodbye to their fallen son with a private service.

They held what was described as a wake for Michael Jackson at the Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills on Monday night, July 6,
E! News reports.

CBS affiliate KCAL-TV got footage of a hearse arriving at a building on cemetery grounds. Michael’s brother Randy and his sister La Toya were also spotted entering the building, but neither of them stayed longer than an hour.

The Los Angeles Police Department was on hand for the service as security. They were checking vehicles, and they sad that everyone at the wake (and everyone who organized it) had signed a confidentiality agreement. However, someone close to the Jackson family stressed that what took place last night was not a funeral.
