Jordin Sparks enters the ‘Battlefield’

Jordin Sparks is a girl on the verge of heartbreak in her upcoming album, Battlefield.

The album doesn’t officially drop for until July 21, but VH1 has leaked the whole thing
here.

Fans of Jordin’s upbeat tone from tone from her first album should be ready for a completely different sound this time. Battlefield seems to follow a more than slightly damaged relationship that eventually splits up.  With the comes a lot of mid-tempo, melancholy sort of melodies but you’ll also get some angry, I-can’t-stand-him sort of songs.

“Battlefield,” the title track and lead single, talks about the constant breakup-to-makeup cycle.  And Jordin also gives a nod to ’80s pop with “S.O.S. (Let The Music Play).” Thankfully, though, Battlefield ends on a more hopeful note with “The Cure” showing that anyone can bounce back from heartache.

If you’re going through a rough relationship or breakup, then Battlefield is definitely the album for you; be sure to get your copy when it hits stores on July 21.
