Michael Jackson investigation turns criminal
Although police deny that Michael Jackson’s death is being treated as a homicide, it’s been confirmed that investigation has taken a turn.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told E! News that authorities are proceeding with the probe as a “criminal investigation.” A spokesperson said that the D.A. has spoken with police and coroner’s officials in connection with the case.
"It is common for law enforcement agencies throughout Los Angeles County to be in contact with the district attorney's office during criminal investigations," said a D.A. rep. “We provide legal assistance to law enforcement, if asked. No case has been formally presented to the office for evaluation at this time."
And the coroner’s office has announced that the official results of Michael’s autopsy won’t be coming out for at least two more weeks.
"We do not anticipate being at a point where we are able to release autopsy results for at least another two weeks," said spokesman Craig Harvey. "That is not to say they will be ready for release in two weeks. Final reports are still pending."
