Summer albums take a beat
Music fans are going have to wait a little longer to get their hands on hotly anticipated albums from the likes of Mariah Carey, Diddy and Lil’ Wayne.
The first casualty this summer was Lil’ Waynes’s rock-inspired Rebirth, which was supposed to drop on June 23. The rapper’s rep told Billboard.com that the album has been pushed back, but no tentative release date has been announced yet.
We also reported that Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel was being held until September 15, three weeks later than the album’s slated August 25 debut. This puts her release exactly two weeks behind that of Whitney Houston’s comeback album, I Look To You.
Meanwhile, Amerie will be dropping her upcoming album, In Love and War, right between the two divas on September 8. The album was originally supposed to hit store shelves on August 11.
And Diddy’s Last Train to Paris has been stalled on the tracks, too. When asked what the hold up was about, Diddy simply said it was time to let other artists shine, but he assured that the “Train is coming.”
