Nene Leakes has finally admitted to a shocking piece of her checkered past.

The author of Never Make the Same Mistake twice confesses in her book that she used to work the pole as a dancer named Silk.

“Yes I was a stripper—let the judgments ensue. I’m not ashamed,” Nene wrote. “What difference does it make if I danced or not? Is the sun going to stop shining? Is my past taking food out of your mouth?”

Those that remember last year’s reunion show for Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” will recall that Nene basically denied ever having been a stripper. She dodged the question by saying the only dancing she does is for husband Greg around the silk plants in their bedroom.

In her memoir, Nene doesn’t apologize for her racy profession, but she explains that it was purely for “survival.” She shared that, at the time, her ex-boo was not helping to raise their son Bryson and that she and her roommate were on the verge of eviction.

However, Nene never saw herself as the victim in her former line of work. In fact, she said she felt a certain power over her customers.

And it’s no longer a secret that Nene makes mention of her castmate Kim Zolciak’s mental health. “I’m not sure if she’s been clinically diagnosed, but I’m convinced that if she were to lie down on a doctor’s couch, a psychiatrist could surmise within minutes that Kim is a wack job,”
