‘Bad Boys III’ in development
Martin Lawrence and Will Smith may be teaming up again if Columbia Pictures can work out a deal.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is working on another movie in the Bad Boys series and it’s calling on Peter Craig to write the script.
Ideally, Columbia would like a screenplay that brings back the characters of Marcus Burnett and Mike Lawry as detectives in Miami. There aren’t any details on the potential script beyond that.
The first installment, Bad Boys, hit theaters in 1995, grossing $66 million in the U.S. The sequel, released in 2003 and also starring Gabriel Union, did over twice as well with box office sales reaching $138 million.
Both Martin and Will have expressed an interest in being in the film, but funding each of their individual deals may be a barrier
