Vickie Winans reaches the top
Fri, 09/11/2009 - 11:52 — Anonymous
Vickie Winans' new CD, How I Got Over, has reached #1 on the Billboard Gospel Album chart.
This is quite a comeback for Vickie, who hasn’t released a project in about three years, but the time has been spent wisely fine-tuning this album.
Backed up by an on-point choir, the album’s title track is straight out of the pulpit on Sunday morning and its lyrics serve as a personal testimony of Vickie’s own faith. But the song’s traditional sound transitions into a more contemporary urban tune.
How I Got Over also boasts “Heyy” a dance song that will have you putting your shouting shoes to good use, but fans will also need sometime tissues while listening to the heartfelt ballad “Realease It”
To hear why Vickie is #1 you can pick up a copy of How I Got Over, in stores now; it’s also available for download on iTunes.
