Shaq wants to make you LOL

HBO has one and so does Starz, now Shaq has brought the funny with Showtime.

The NBA player has teamed up with Jeff Clanagan to produce “The All-Star Comedy Jam.”

The show is more like a series of specials that allow newer comics to perform alongside seasoned pros. The first showcase, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer, boasted talent like Tommy Davidson, Kevin Hart, Aries Spears and DeRay Davis.  Codeblack Entertainment will be released a DVD of that show on September 8.

The next installment of “The All-Star Comedy Jam” was filmed in June at the American Black Film Festival in Miami, but it won’t premiere until January 2010.

And Shaq switched things up for the second go round, which was hosted by D.L. Hughley. Fans of “Comic View” know he’s no stranger to the comedy hosting game, and they’ll recognize series regulars like Earthquake, Arnez J, Lavell Crawford and Melaine Comarcho.
