Kanye’s tour killed
Kanye West will have to keep his promise to go on hiatus from the music business since Live Nation just cancelled his tour.
The concert promotion company announced Thursday that it would be scrapping the Fame Kills Tour, which Kanye would have been headlining with Lady Gaga. Live Nation released a statement on the cancellation, but there was no word on why the shows were shut down.
The 34-date concert was set to kick off November 10 at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and tickets for several dates had already gone on sale. Live Nation announced that ticket holders will be able to get their money back.
There had been speculation of the tour’s cancellation in the weeks after Kanye’s infamous outburst at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for best female video.
