Pharrell Williams is adding actor to his diverse resume, which includes producing and performing music and modeling. He stars in a short film, The Ear, directed by Yi Zhou.
 

According to the YouTube video, the film was inspired by The Nose, a short story by Russian writer Nikolai Gogol. In that work, a government officer finds that his nose has left his face and is living an independent life.
 
Pharrell's version is similarly eerie, with 3D animation of a white ear traveling down stairs, across a bridge and, ultimately, into a newspaper story.
