Gucci Mane has been sentenced to a year in prison for parole violation.
 
Reps from his label told MTV News that the rapper was taken away in handcuffs this afternoon. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison for not completing 600 hours of court-ordered community service. 
He's had the order since 2005.
 
But there is a chance that Gucci may only have to serve half of that sentence.
 
This news comes just weeks before the release of his album, The State Vs. Radrick Davis, which is slated to drop on December 8. His current single, Spotlight, features Usher and the video is garnering a lot of attention because of his leading lady Bria Murphy.
