Darius McCrary’s gets dramatic for daytime

Darius McCrary is returning to TV and taking over for Shemar Moore on “The Young and The Restless.”
 
Entertainment Weekly reports that that Eddie—oops—Darius is the new man playing Malcolm Winters.  He’s signed a multi-year contract that began on November 18, so he may already by taping episodes as Malcom. But viewers will have to wait until December 29 to see his big debut.
 
According to a statement from Maria Bell, “Y&R” co-executive producer-head writer, Malcolm will be return to the soap to reconnect with his brother and his daughter as she fights for her life.


 
“We are thrilled to have the character of Malcolm back on ‘Y&R,’” Maria wrote in a statement. “Malcolm is a photographer…someone who lives on the edge and who always pushes the envelope.”
 
Shemare Moore, who originated the role, left the soap in 2005. Although he’s got a starring role on CBS’ “Criminal Minds,” he had once considered coming back to the daytime soap to reprise the role.
