Get the first look at the Jennifer Hudson’s Christmas special, “Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”
It’s been about a year since Jen’s mother, brother and nephew were tragically gunned down, but she’s managed to persevere and flourish. Recently, Jen was honored as a VH1 Diva. The newest feather in her cap is the fact that she snagged the title role in Winnie, which is a film based on the life of Winnie Mandela.
"Winnie Mandela is a complex and extraordinary woman and I’m honored to be the actress asked to portray her," Jen said in a statement.
The big milestone ahead for the new mom is celebrating the holidays with her fiancé , their son and her sister. Of course, ABC viewers will also be in on the festivities courtesy of “Jennifer Hudson: I’ll Be Home for Christmas.” The holiday special airs December 14 at 8p.m. EST.
The special, featuring crooner Michael Buble, won’t be airing for a few more weeks, but you can check out shots from the show below.
