Halle Berry, Angela Bassett join ‘Colored Girls’

We found out four of the big names set to star in Tyler Perry’s next film adaptation, including Oprah Winfrey.

A source close to the film revealed to S2S that Oprah, Halle Berry, Angela Basset and Kimberly Elise have all been tapped for For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf.

Reportedly the ladies already did a table read for the stage-to-screen adaptation a few weeks ago.

We expect that filming should go pretty smoothly since Tyler has worked with most of the ladies in one capacity or another once before.

Halle would be the only newcomer to the Perry pantheon. Kimberly starred in the Tyler’s first major motion picture Diary of a Mad Black Woman, while Angela helmed the cast for Meet The Browns. Currently, he and Oprah have been credited as executive producer for Precious.
