Jay-Z turned the big 4-0 in high style at an elaborate, intimate celebration in the Dominican Republic thrown by his wife.

 
TheYBF.com reports that Beyoncé arranged the whole affair, which took place on Friday night at the Campo de Casa. Bey requested that everyone wear ’20s or ’40s-era attire to the dinner party.
 
As a tribute to her hubby, Sasha asked each of his friends to film a happy birthday message for Hov, saying what he meant to them. Insiders say Kevin Liles showed a lot of love Jay in his video birthday card.
 
After everyone polished off their plates, guests were treated to a show featuring synchronized swimmers and fireworks. But the party really got popping later in the night, and guests say that Jigga was out on the dance floor for the rest of the night as Diddy manned the mic.
 
“It was one of the best parties I’ve been to my entire life. Small but filled with ppl who love Jay,” said one attendee. 

Among Hov’s nearest and dearest were Kim Porter, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Kanye, Amber Rose, Tyra Banks, Solange and mother-in-law Tina Knowles. And you already know that his mother and their immediate family was on hand for the shindig.

 
The festivities continued the next day as Bey invited all the guests to their villa for a luxe brunch where lobster and steak were served.
