Kelly Rowland lands new deal?
There’s buzz that Kelly Rowland has found a new label home just in time for the release of her next album.
According to a source for Bossip.com, Ms. Kelly has just signed a record deal with Universal Motown. The tipster said that Kelly inked the deal on Thursday, but they couldn’t offer any details on what she gets under her new contract.
It’s amazing what an international hit single will do for a girl!
If the reports are to be believed, then Kelly’s as-yet-untitled album, which she’s prepping now, will be released by Universal. No drop date for the project has been announced yet.
Jim Jonsin, the creative mind behind tracks like Beyoncé’s “Sweet Dreams” and Lil’ Wayne’s “Lollipop,” recently told Rap-up.com that he’s adding his swag to Kelly’s album. But fans of “When Love Takes Over” don’t need to worry about her straying from that Euro-tinged sound.
“She’s doing a pop-house and R&B sound, like a mixture,” Jim explained. “It’s really cool. Some uptempo stuff, some ballads, all around really nice—more like a Donna Summer sound.”
Kelly hasn’t made any official announcement on the deal at this time. However, Jim confirmed that she is in talks with Universal and a few other labels.
