Mary J. Blige is the latest celebrity to sort of become a fashion designer.
Stylelist.com reports that the singer has collaborated with designer Catherine Malandrino to create of line of fashionably philanthropic t-shirts. The collection, dubbed FFAWN + Catherine Malandrino, will benefit The Mary J. Blige and Steve Stoute Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now. The organization seeks to empower underprivileged women.
All the garments in the line, which favors the off-the-shoulder look, boast MJB-inspired message like “I’m Power” and “I’m Love.” The line will launch in Catherine’s boutiques and Bloomingdale’s in New York on February 17.
So far FFAWN + Catherine Malandrino only features a few designs, but the full line will be introduced this June at a charity fashion show. The runway debut is slated to follow the Mary J. Blige Honors Women Concert.
