Naomi speaks on alleged limo attack
Naomi Campbell is sick and tired of people holding actions in the past against her, and she’s speaking up.
The supermodel, who was accused of assaulting her limo driver on Tuesday, is arguing that the incident was not her fault. Driver Miodrag Mejdina told a Manhattan traffic agent that Naomi had struck him from the backseat of the Escalade he was operating. She’d fled by the time police arrived on the scene.
"I was accused of unacceptable behavior towards a driver in New York," Naomi said in a statement. "I have worked very hard on correcting my previous wrongdoings and I will not be held hostage to my past."
Naomi’s has a history of violence, including a 2006 arrest stemming from an attack on her housekeeper. A year later she was accused of physically and verbally assaulting two cops at Heathrow airport.
People have almost come to expect crazy behavior from the supermodel, so many ascribed the blame for Tuesday’s incident to her. However, Miodrag wound up apologizing to Naomi. On Thursday, he told the Associated Press that the situation was “blown of proportion” because he “got angry and overreacted.”
"I try to treat everyone with respect and I am pleased the driver has apologized," said Naomi. "I would like to put the last few days behind me and move on."
