Oprah Winfrey is taking her talk gig to a new time, and new places, when she launches her new network.
The Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that O would host an hourlong show titled “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” This marks a format change for the media maven as she travels to all over the world for stimulating conversation with all kinds of extraordinary people.
OWN, a channel forged by Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc, will break onto TV land on January 1, the Associated Press reports. “Next Chapter” will debut in late 2011.
Before this, Oprah’s onscreen presence had been uncertain, but this show will ensure that O will still be reaching millions of viewers after she wraps production on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” at the end of its 25th season.
