Jay-Z runs the BET awards
The nominees for this year’s BET Awards have finally been announced, and Jay-Z is leading the pack.
Hov has five nods under his belt, including Video of the Year where he’s nominated twice for “Empire State of Mind” and “Run This Town.” His love song to New York, backed by Alicia Keys, also earned him nominations for Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice.
Jay's wife, Beyoncé, hasn’t done too badly for herself, either, and the couple will be facing off in all the previously mentioned categories. Bey is also in the running for Best Female R&B Artist, giving her four nominations overall.
And although Lil’ Wayne is locked up, his Young Money label will still be repping him big time this year. The imprint and its individual artists have racked up a total of six nominations, including Best Group.
To find out who takes home the prize tune into the BET Awards June 27 at 8 p.m. EST.
