Sheree sued by divorce lawyer
Sheree Whitfield has been slammed with yet another lawsuit for not paying her divorce attorney.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia law firm Weinstock & Scavo filed a civil lawsuit against the “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star on June 10 in Fulton County Superior Court.
Sheree began working with the law firm in 2007, and she’s racked up more than $96,190 in attorneys’ fees. It’s not clear whether that total includes the estimated $18,709 that Weinstock & Scavo claims Sheree owes them. In March of 2009, a lien was filed against the Bravo reality star.
The law firm decided to sue their client after Sheree’s ex-husband, Bob Whitfield, sold some property in Atlanta back in October. Proceeds from that sale went to paying off of his 2005 divorce settlement with Sheree. All parties involved in the sale supposedly ignored the lien.
Weinstock & Scavo accused Sheree of breach of contract, stating, “Ms. Whitfield has acted in bad faith, has been stubbornly litigious and has caused W&S unnecessary trouble and expense entitling W&S to an award of attorneys’ fees and costs of litigation in connection with this case.”
This will be the second lawsuit leveled against Sheree by divorce lawyers. In 2009, Levine & Smith sued against her for more than $87,000 in unpaid fees.
