Gospel stars will gather in California next week to celebrate the life of Walter Hawkins.

 
Acts like Yolanda Adams, Mary Mary and Donnie McClurkin will bless Paramount Theater in Oakland, California, for a free tribute concert on July 20 at 7 p.m.  They’re among the singers who will be belting out their renditions of Walter’s best-loved tunes like “Goin’ Up Yonder,” “Marvelous,” and “What Is This?” 

 
Walter will be laid to rest the next morning. The funeral, which will also be held at the Paramount Theater, is slated to start at 11 a.m. Bishop Kenneth Moales will lead the ceremony.


 
While many mourners tend to send flowers to the grieving family, the Hawkins request that a donation be made to The Walter Hawkins Memorial Foundation. Donations, along with cards and letters, of condolence can be sent to Love
