LeToya Luckett’s CD pushed back, Kelly Rowland dropped from label
LeToya is probably wishing she could hurry Lady Love.
The album should have been released on May 19, but now it’s slated for a June 16 release, BrownSista.com reports.
LeToya’s single, “Not Anymore” hasn’t exactly made a splash on the charts yet, so Capitol Records has decided to hold Lady Love for another month. The label plans to use the extra time wisely by putting out a single called “Regret,” in hopes that it will fare better than “Not Anymore.”
It’s been awhile since LeToya’s last album. She told us what the hold up was when we sat down with her for the April/May 2009 issue of Sister 2 Sister, on stands now.
If you can't wait for "Regret," (which was produced by Tank) to come out, check out her video for "Not Anymore."
Former fellow Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland, has also hit a snag in her musical career. The songstress was recently dropped from Columbia Records as a solo artist, but she will remain on the label as part of Destiny’s Child (for whatever that is worth).
According to Singersroom.com, there have been rumors that she was dropped for not being “commercially viable” any more. However, Kelly says that’s not true. Actually, she said it was her decision to take a “new amicable direction.”
"Because Columbia Records has been my home base as an artist for more than a decade, the decision to move out on my own required a lot of soul-searching," Kelly said in a statement released March 31. "As a solo artist, I felt the need to explore new directions, new challenges, and new freedoms outside my comfort zone and my friends and family at Columbia have been incredibly understanding about my evolution."
This is the second amicable split for Kelly this year. She dropped her old manager, Mather Knowles (you know, Beyoncé’s daddy) in February.
