Terrence and Cuba are ready for take off

Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. are the newest fly boys attached to a film about the Tuskegee Airmen.

Variety.com reports that the actors have signed on to the cast of George Lucas' Red Tails. It's a WWII action-adventure movie about the historic air squad.

They'll be in good company considering that Ne-Yo, Jazmine Sullivan and Method Man are already involved with the film too.

Red Tails was written by John Ridley and it centers on the young Black pilots who formed the Tuskegee Airmen despite institutional racism in the miltary. Their fighter planes had red tails, which is where the movie's title comes from.

Anthony Hemingway is set to direct the film which begins shooting in Europe soon, and Executive Producer George Lucas can't wait to get started.

"I've been wanting to do Red Tails for 20 years, and we've finally got the means to showcase the skill of the Tuskegee pilots," George told Variety. "We're working on techniques which will give us the first true look at the aerial dogfighting of the era."
