Beyoncé’s not sweating vocal hoax

Beyoncé knows she can sing and she’s not letting a fake tape shake her.

On April 21, Shock jock Howard Stern aired what he said was an unedited mix of Queen B singing “If I Were A Boy” during a “Today” show appearance last year. The voice on the tape seemed to be screeching out the song and it was way off-key.

When asked about it Wednesday, Sasha said the tape was obviously a phony and brushed it off as an excellent promotional opportunity.
TMZ.com backed her up on that when they reported the tape was a hoax.

"Everyone's heard me sing; and it's perfect timing, actually, because I'll be on the 'Today' show tomorrow singing 'Halo,' or tonight you can watch me sing live on David Letterman” she told
MTV News with a laugh. “It's perfect promotion, whoever came up with that idea."

Bey’s manager, dad Mathew Knowles, didn’t appreciate the fact that the tape actually fooled some folks. He fired off a heated statement on
TMZ, and said that anyone who doubts his baby’s talent has “gotta be an idiot.”

"At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability,” he wrote later on in the message. “That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered."
