Willie D. busted for iPhone scam

Willie D., a founding member of the Geto Boys, has been arrested for wire fraud.

He was taken into custody on Wednesday, April 14, at the Bush Intercontinental airport in Houston after an indictment linking him to an Internet scam was unsealed.

The court documents state that Willie posed as an independent  electronics seller on eBay. The Houston Press reports that he took countless orders for iPhones and other gadgets.

Once a customer expressed interest in an item, Willie would direct the person outside of eBay to a company called Texas One Wireless. Allegedly, he conducted sales via e-mail and had payments electronically transferred into his bank account, but he never shipped the orders.

Customers began complaining after they didn't receive the items they purchased from him. The rapper would tell them that the merchandise was lost in the mail, and that he couldn't refund their money until he found the electronics.

Willie now faces up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
