‘Dancing With The Stars’ recap: May 19
Two couples are tied for first on ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars,” while one was left in the dust.
The show started with a dance off as each of the remaining pairs had to do the Paso Doble. Because this is the finals, each of them got help from a judge. (By the way, we never want to see Bruno in a speedo ever, ever, ever again. Ever!)
Although gymnast Shawn Johnson and partnerMark Ballas started off a little slow, they really picked it up about halfway through their routine. After being the first ones out, they scored in last place with 28 points out 30.
Bachelorette Melissa Rycroft stepped it up with her Paso Doble, and she really connected with the character and the song. With a performance like that, Monday night was shaping up to be a comeback for her after not such a spectacular showing last week. She and her partner Tony Dovolani scored 29 out of 30.
As always, Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke stole the show with their powerful Paso, which earned them a perfect 30 from the judges.
After such a tight dance off, the freestyle was going to be the make or break round.
