‘Vogue’ editor told Oprah to lose weight

To heck with a personal trainer or a bathing suit: Anna Wintour may be the only motivation you need to lose weight. Just ask Oprah!

Anna, Vogue’s editor-in-chief, revealed that she told O to drop about 20 pounds before the media diva graced the magazine’s cover in 1998.

"I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight,"she told “
60 Minutes” during an unaired segment of her interview on Sunday. "I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!"

Evidently, Oprah took the “gentle suggestion” to heart because Oprah’s October cover featured a full-body makeover.

Anna said that Oprah worked hard to achieve the body by going on a stringent diet, and the advice paid off. “It was one of our most successful covers ever,” she told Morley Safer.
