‘Sherri’ turns pain into paycheck

Lifetime has picked up a sitcom starring Sherri Shepherd.

EURweb.com reports that the network has ordered 12 episodes of “Sherri.”  The show is loosely based on the TV personality’s own experiences of dealing with infidelity.

“Sherri” is about a single mom who lets her husband’s mistress and her illegitimate child move in with her.

Tammy Townsend, Kali Rocha, Elizabeth Regen and Kate Reinders have all joined the cast of the show, but there is no word on who’s playing what role.

Filming is set to begin in New York this August, but a premiere date hasn’t been announced just yet.  Sherri will still continue her co-hosting gig on "The View", and the production schedule for the sitcom is not expected to interfere with that.

According to
The Hollywood Reporter, “Sherri” had originally been developed for the CW. Dave Flebotte, who wrote the show, even produced a pilot episode for that network.
