Tyrese rewrites national anthem
Tyrese Gibson decided it was time to jazz up "The Star-Spangled Banner” on Thursday night.
While singing the national anthem at Game 5 of the NBA’s Western Conference finals, Tyrese did an impromptu (and unappreciated) remix of the song.
Instead of singing “our flag was still there,” he belted out "our Lakers were still there." The lyrical twist was met with a hail of boos, especially since the flub came just two days after Memorial Day.
We know Tyrese has love for his home team, but we’re sure homie could have found another way to show his support. This controversy comes just in time for him to get a little extra publicity for his next movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Tyrese hasn’t commented on the incident just yet, but he wrote on his Twitter blog that he feels sick.
“Sometimes you have to listen to your body and rest,” he tweeted. “My day is canceled. Sleepy time!
