Twitter user devamclean is "sick to death of the maid and hooker movies when depicting women of color,"
but our poll results show 62 percent of you loved "The Help." How do you feel about it?
Are you torn? Did the fact that the Black actresses played maids bother you? Do you wish the Academy
would recognize roles that weren't so stereotypical? Are you just too happy for Viola Davis and
Octavia Spencer to care about anything else? You tell us.

Over the past three years, only three black women have been nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Halle Berry, Gabourey Sidibe and Viola Davis. All of these roles carries a stigma within the black community. Although I am overjoyed with the fact that these women were nominated and showcased for their amazing talented, it is sad to see that these are the roles that are being honored. Can we blame the Oscars? There isn't any variation, they keep giving black women the same roles to play, the abused, the help and the angry black woman.
