The Chi flat iron. It works wonders and the durability is phenomenal. I was a "hairstylist" and the 1st Chi I purchased lasted 6 years. I just purchased another (about 7 months ago). They're expensive, but definitely worth the price.

Any "good" flat iron will do fine. Even when it comes to black hair. Can you tell any specific hair needs that you have?
The key to flat ironing and other hot irons is protecting your hair from the heat. Make sure you always have a heat protector. I have a GHD flat iron that works great. Alot of women like CHI, or T3...the list goes on. Get a good ceramic iron and heat protection and your good to go.
