LaLa scores a new reality show

LaLa Vasquez is ready to make some hoop dreams come true for one very lucky and talented blacktop baller. She's teaming up with 51 Minds Entertainment for “The Sixth Man,” and she’ll take on the role of executive producer, Essence.com reports.

“People always say the best basketball players aren’t in the leagues,” LaLa told Essence.com, so a team will be traveling to different towns and cities scoping out some league-worthy talent for the basketball-themed reality show.

The final group of NBA-hopefuls will then live together and compete for a chance to go pro, either in the US or abroad—with the help of a sports agent, of course.

51 Minds should sound familiar to VH1 viewers; it’s the company behind perennial guilty pleasures like “I Love New York,” "Flavor of Love" and “Real Chance of Love.”

Expect to see “The Sixth Man” sometime in 2009. There’s no word yet on who will host, but we know our girl LaLa would fit the bill perfectly. (Just saying!)
