Chris Brown, Rihanna’s father, and MTV talk
Just over a week after his shocking fight with Rihanna, Chris Brown has issued a statement expressing his regret about the alleged attack.
"Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired. I am seeking the counseling of my pastor, my mother and other loved ones and I am committed, with God's help, to emerging a better person,”Chris said in the statement issued by his publicist.
The blogosphere has been flooded with reports about what happened on the morning on February 8. Chris said that unfortunately he can’t divulge any details right now.
"Much of what has been speculated or reported on blogs and/or reported in the media is wrong. While I would like to be able to talk about this more, until the legal issues are resolved, this is all I can say except that I have not written any messages or made any posts to Facebook, on blogs or any place else. Those posts or writings under my name are frauds."
Following last Sunday’s altercation, Chris turned himself in to the Los Angeles Police Department. He was booked on criminal threat charges and released on $50,000 bail. He is now at the center of a felony battery investigation for wounds he allegedly inflicted on girlfriend Rihanna.

Ronald Fenty (Rihanna’s father) gave People an update on his daughter, saying that she is currently staying with friends in the Barbados. "There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so," he said.
Ronald told People that "At some point, [Rihanna] will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world." He added that although he can’t tell Rihanna whether to stay with Chris, he said, "If it were me, I'd move on."
News of Chris and Rihanna’s falling out has grabbed so much attention that it’s even inspired MTV to air a special called ‘Chris Brown and Rihanna: Love In Trouble.’ The show features a forum with relationship expert Dr. Michelle Callahan; she’ll be talking about dating violence.
Chris and Rihanna’s fans will also get to talk about how they’re feeling in the wake of this explosive news. Some will share their own experiences with domestic violence.
Catch ‘Chris and Rihanna: Love in Trouble’ tonight at 6 p.m. on MTV.
