MTV to release Snoop Dogg’s next album

Snoop might be putting his search for a label on hold now that he’s teamed up with MTV.

MTV announced that they struck up a deal with the Doggfather to release his next album, Malice in Wonderland.  They’re also hooking him up with global distribution, marketing and promotion.   Expect to hear guest vocals from Dr. Dre and Pharrell Williams when the album drops later this year.

Snoop Dogg’s new show on MTV, “Dogg After Dark,” was just the first part of the unprecedented deal.   The network will also put some of his music on the next installment of their “Rock Band” video game.

This makes Snoop the third rapper lending tracks to a video game this year.  Kanye West’s music will be featured on “Scratch: The Ultimate DJ,” while Busta Rhymes actually released a single on “Grand Theft Auto IV.”

The D-O-Double G has also launched a line of t-shirts designed by Christian Audigier, the creative mind behind the Ed Hardy clothing line.  The shirts mix Snoop’s style with Christian’s signature script, graphics and foil finishing.  Some of the shirts even have rhinestones for that extra bit of bling.

You can buy the shirts at the official
Rich & Infamous website, but they don’t come cheap.   Right now the shirts are on sale for about $83 each; they’re usually priced at $127.
