Obama gets a dose of 'Superstition'
Barack Obama really is just like us! The newly minted President loves the artist formerly known as Little Stevie Wonder just as much as every other, um, brown, person does. He recently honored the singer with The Library of Congress' Gershwin Prize, complete with a ceremony held at the White House's East Room. Stevie sang a few of his classics, like "Isn't She Lovely" and "Superstition," before Will.i.am, Tony Bennett and others sang tribute performances to the legend.
The Obamas were all smiles during the event, which took place on Wednesday night. Michelle even recounted the memory of listening to Stevie's music with her grandfather and bringing those songs into her relationship with Barack.
"Years later, when I discovered what Stevie meant when he sang about love, Barack and I chose the song, 'You and I' as our wedding song," reports Fox News.
Barack later noted "I think it's fair to say that had I not been a Stevie Wonder fan, Michelle might not have dated me. We might not have married. And the fact that we agreed on Stevie was a part of the essence of our courtship."
