Is Aubrey O’Day going solo?
Months after Diddy booted her from Danity Kane on national TV, Aubrey O’ Day could be going solo.
Rumors have been swirling that Aubrey might be close to signing a solo deal, but there is some confusion over which label she’ll be on.
Singersroom.com reports that she’s about to sign with Akon’s Konvict imprint. According to MTV.com, she’s about to close a solo deal with Steve Rifkind at SRC/Universal. They also report that she’ll be working with Akon on her album when the deal is signed though.
Aubrey isn’t saying a thing about what’s really going on. Her camp wasn’t giving up any information on the rumors or the possible collaboration either when MTV.com asked for a comment.
Either way, Aubrey has said that she’s been getting creative in the studio. “It's been a long time since I've been able to express myself in writing and trying different ways of performing on tracks and different styles of music,” she told MTV.com.
She’s admittedly been experimenting with a rock sound for some of her tracks, but fans won’t here anything new from Aubrey until her contract with Diddy runs out.
Despite how things ended with Danity Kane, Aubrey hasn’t closed the door on a reunion. “If there was ever interest in me coming back ... and making music with the girls, I would never say no to something like that," she said.
