Football players still missing at sea

Authorities are still looking for three men who went missing off of a fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico last weekend.

The missing boaters have been identified as Marquis Cooper  of the Oakland Raiders (right) and free agent Corey Smith (left).  The two used to be teammates when they played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Also on board were former teammates from the University of South Florida, William Bleakley, 25, and Nick Schuyler, 24.

The Associated Press reports that one survivor was found clinging to the missing 21-foot boat Monday afternoon.  He told rescuers that the boat was anchored when it flipped Saturday night during a fishing trip.  He said the other men were separated from the boat, which belongs to Marquis.

Unfortunately, a 16,000 square mile search of the water turned up no sign of Marquis, Corey or Will.  The Coast Guard has now narrowed its search for three remaining men; they’ll be looking around the area where Nick was found.
