Sherri Shepherd signs with Lifetime
Sherri Shepherd's packing up and moving to Lifetime for a possible sitcom. But don't worry, she'll still hold Barbara Walters and Co. down as co-host of ABC's "The View."
Sherri will soon film a pilot episode of her untitled comedy for Lifetime Television Network, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The show's pilot (a test episode of a program) was penned by "Desperate Housewives" scribe Dave Flebotte. It's a humorous account of a woman who makes the ultimate sacrifice to accept her husband's infidelity: she allows his illegitimate child and the child's mother to move into her home.
The sitcom (which already sounds hilarious) was originally created for the CW network's 2007-08 season, but eventually went to Lifetime. Interestingly, Sherri won't be moving too far away from her ABC home since both it and Lifetime are part of the Disney family.
Sherri's no stranger to the small screen, as she's appeared in both NBC's "30 Rock" and ABC's "Less than Perfect."
Dave, who might executive produce the show if his "Desperate" schedule permits, is an alum of "The Bernie Mac Show" and Eddie Murphy's "The PJs."
We're keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well for our girl Sherri!
