Tupac film script back in production
A movie written entirely by late rapper Tupac Shakur may be in theaters next year.
Woooha.com reports that Live 2 Tell has a tentative 2010 release date. Right now, Insomnia Productions have the movie rights; they’re the company behind HBO’s dramatic series “Rome.”
Pac wrote the screenplay back in 1995 while he was in prison serving time for sexual assault charges. The script centers on an embattled young man who winds up becoming his city’s biggest kingpin. After a while, he wants to get out of the game because the role weighs heavily on his conscience.
But don’t get it twisted: Live 2 Tell is not the Tupac biopic that’s currently the subject of a heated court battle.
The script has been making its way around Hollywood since 2005 (Tupac’s mom, Afeni Shakur, shopped it around for a bit), and there’s been buzz about its production since 2007.
