Tyler Perry, Lionsgate stick together

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Lionsgate announced Wednesday that they’ll be releasing two more Tyler Perry movies.  Variety.com reports that the studio has acquired the rights to Why Did I Get Married Too and I Can Do Bad All By Myself.   Tyler will be writing, directing and starring in the films (shocker!).

Our girl Taraji P. Henson is also set to star in I Can Do Bad All By Myself, and filming is set to start March 16 at Tyler’s studio in Atlanta.  The movie, also featuring Tyler’s character, Madea (YAY!), should be released on September 11.

Fans will have to wait a little longer for Why Did I Get Married Too, which is the follow up to his 2007 hit, Why Did I Get Married.  It’s set to hit theaters on April 2, 2010—just in time for Easter!

Lionsgate has released seven of Tyler’s movies (we can’t pick a favorite) including Madea Goes to Jail.  The movie, which is currently in theaters, has held on to the top spot at the box office for two weekends straight.
