Whitney Houston celebrates gospel with BET

Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan are among the legendary singers who will be performing at BET’s 11th annual Celebration of Gospel, airing this Sunday at 8 p.m. (EST), but don't expect to hear “I’m Every Woman.”

Instead, Whitney performs with one of her favorite voices, Kim Burrell, in a rendition of “I Look to You.”

Also performing: Mary Mary, VaShawn Mitchell, Kirk Franklin, James Fortune and FIYA, Chante Moore, Kelly Price, El DeBarge, Israel Houghton and “Sunday Best” winners LeAndria Johnson and Y’Anna Crawley.

As if that weren’t enough, Chaka Khan also takes the stage, thrilling the audience with her R&B hit, “Through the Fire.”

Special tributes will be made to the late “Queen of Gospel,” Albertina Walker, and gospel pioneer Walter Hawkins, who also passed away last year.

This year’s show "paid tribute to the rich history of gospel music in a unique format that combined today’s leading gospel and secular artists,” according to a press release.

Steve Harvey will return as host of the two-hour program.
