Remy Ma appeal denied

Remy Ma won't be getting out of prison early since a judge has rejected her appeal.

The Associated Press reports that an appeals court denied Remy's motion to overturn her 2007 conviction. The rapper was charged with criminal possession of a weapon after shooting her friend, Makeda Barnes-Jospeh, while arguing over $3,000.

Remy contested the conviction on the grounds that the grounds that the jury in her trial wasn't properly informed before finding her guilty.

The rapper is currently serving an 8-year sentence at the Bedford Hills Correction Facility for Women, and she's slated for release in 2013.
