Chris Brown tops BET Awards noms
Chris Brown is leading the pack among artists up for BET Awards this year.
Breezy's comeback keeps pressing on as BET announced the singer is nominated for six awards—more than any other act in the running this year.
Among his nods, Chris is up for Best Male R&B Artist and Video of the Year. In the latter category, he'll be facing off against Marsha Ambrosius's "Far Way," B.o.B's "Airplanes" and Keri Hilson's "Pretty Girl Rock." Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" and Kanye West's "Runaway" are also up for the award.
For his role in Takers, Chris is competing for Best Actor against Laz Alonso, Don Cheadle, Idris Elba and Jamie Foxx. Takers received a Best Movie nod, which means another possible trip to the podium for CB.
Not even Lil Wayne could beat Chris as top nominee. Weezy is up for five BET Awards, including the Viewer's Choice Award for "6 Foot 7 Foot" and for Best Male Hip-Hop Artist. Wayne will be going head-to-head in that category with his Young Money protege Drake.
However, Chris and Wayne may share honors for their teamwork on "Look At Me Now," which has also been nominated for the Viewer's Choice Award, Video of the Year and Best Collaboration.
Young Money also brought home a nod for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist via Nicki Minaj, who's up against Diamond, Lola Monroe and Cymphonique. Nicki has snagged her fair share of nominations in the Viewer's Choice category as well.
To see who takes home which prizes, catch the BET Awards when it airs live from Los Angeles on June 26.
